In the Community + Artful Eats In The Big Easy

In New Orleans, y’all know we love to eat and here at Where Y’Art, we’re all about the art. So, we’ve rounded up some of our favorite eateries that combine our two favorite things: New Orleans art and New Orleans eats.

Breakfast at ManhattanJack

Get your day morning jolt Uptown at ManhattanJack, home to the City’s coolest brews and hottest bagel sandwiches. Take a seat by the window, and enjoy a fresh, warm pastry as you feast your eyes on the works of Leroy Miranda, Jr., on display until August.

Lunch at Café Atchafalaya

Continue to eat your way through the City at Café Atchafalaya, known by us locals for their brunch menu. Combine their ‘make-your-own’ Bloody Mary bar with Debbie Willson’s photographs of the Atchafalaya Basin, the largest wetlands and swamp in the US, and it’s almost like you’re down in dat bayou. Debbie’s photographs are printed on antique mirrors, where you might just catch a glimpse of yourself enjoying a bite of your ‘Eggs Atchafalaya’.

Happy Hour at Compère Lapin

Stop in for a refreshing beverage at Compère Lapin, located inside The Old No. 77 Hotel and Chandlery, and recently recognized by Vogue, USA Today, and the New York Times for their signature
cocktails and Creole Caribbean style bites. As you sip on delicious aperitifs, explore the Where Y’Art satellite gallery’s ever-changing art on the first floor of the hotel.
